St. Paul, MN (May 11, 2020) — Matsuura announces planned exhibition at Amerimold Connects, a remote trade show experience that delivers the typical Amerimold experience to attendees in their homes.
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the growing needs of the mold manufacturing industry for a remote tradeshow experience, Amerimold: The Event For Mold Manufacturing will instead present Amerimold Connects, a free-to-attend remote event experience that will take place from June 9th-13th, 2020.
Matsuura is an exhibitor at Amerimold, a yearly event that has connected over 3,000 of the top owners, managers, engineers, and toolroom technicians involved in the design, manufacture, maintenance, and running of a mold. The event has traditionally included an exhibit hall, a diverse collection of Amerimold Tech Talks, and various production sourcing events.
Amerimold Connects will provide a virtual marketplace for attendees and exhibitors in an online format. Exhibitors will have online showrooms that feature brochures, white papers, product releases, videos, and more. Attendees will be able to visit each booth with an easy-to-use online interface, interacting with exhibitors using features such as one-to-one chat and virtual business cards.
The free educational sessions that have been a trademark of Amerimold will be featured at Amerimold Connects, free to access for all attendees throughout the week of the show. These sessions, presented by industry experts, will cover supply chain management, tooling procurement, data management, additive manufacturing, mentorship, trade policy, and efficiency improvement best practices. The schedule will feature a mixture of pre-recorded and live content, giving each attendee a wide range of material for business improvement.
Registration for Amerimold Connects is currently open. Event registration and details are available at www.amerimoldexpo.com or contact Matsuura at [email protected].
Matsuura will provide an informative round table with Matsuura LUMEX customers sharing their application of the technology. Additionally, Tom Houle, Director of LUMEX, NA, will demonstrate these applications on the LUMEX, a hybrid metal 3D printer series which comprises metal laser sintering by fiber laser and high-speed milling of a machining center.
Matsuura customers are seeing the value that comes with implementing additive manufacturing technology into their tools. These include conformal cooling channels, porous venting, and virtually no concerns over deep ribs. Secondly, it is quick-turn manufacturing, which means the ability to build a production tool in days versus weeks or months, with reduced tooling costs. Finally, those toolmakers who are also injection molders are reaping the additional benefits of cycle time savings, thanks to an additively manufactured mold’s far greater cooling capability.
Matsuura led the world in 2002 with the commercialization of a hybrid metal 3D printer and achieved a solid track record of Matsuura LUMEX Avance-25 mostly in the high value-added dies and molds market.
The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-25 relies on one-machine, one-process manufacturing of complex molds and parts by fusing metal laser sintering (3D SLS) technology with high speed milling technology. The Hybrid technology creates a “finished” part with machined surface finish and accuracy, without inducing the additional variation caused by multiple machine set-ups and part handling. The machine enables production of complicated parts and molds through total manufacturing by digital engineering, using 3D data.
The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-25 serves predominantly the high value, high accuracy mold and die market. Dies and molds with complex geometries can be fabricated in one piece with high accuracy, shortening lead time and reducing manufacturing costs by as much as a third over conventional machining technology.
Matsuura’s cutting-edge technology is transformative in today’s world of 3D Metal Additive Manufacturing. With Matsuura’s combination of best-in-class CNC Milling and high speed Direct Laser Melting, Matsuura has fundamentally revolutionized the AM marketplace. Matsuura’s unique combination of technology platforms enables the production of parts and component geometries in a method that has never been possible nor imagined.
Original parts and geometries with internal structures, previously impossible to manufacture, are achievable on the Avance-25. The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-25 technology also shortens lead times and reduces manufacturing costs to a half or even a third of conventional methods.
The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-25 is capable of processing parts and molds up to 256 mm x 256 mm x 185 mm with an option allowing processing of 256 mm × 256 mm × 300 mm. The Matsuura LUMEX Avance-25 serves predominantly the high value, high accuracy mold and die market. Dies and molds with very complex geometries can be fabricated in one piece with high accuracy, shortening lead time and reducing manufacturing costs to a half or even a third of conventional methods.
